These five newcomers join an experienced Catamount group with 12 players returning from the 2020-21 season. Vermont returns all of its forwards from a season ago. Coming back to Catamount Country is 83% of the UVM's scoring from a season ago, led by reigning America East Player of the Year Ryan Davis.

The newcomers include:

Sam Alamutu
6-2 • 215 • G • FY • Ajax, Ontario • Rothesay Netherwood School
"I'm really excited about Sam. I think he has a chance to be a special player for us. Physically gifted with a strong work ethic. He is a great kid and I expect him to be another great player from Canada," said Becker.
  • Spent the last three seasons with Rothesay Netherwood School in New Brunswick where he was a team captain and named team's MVP
  • Averaged 18.0 points, 11.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.3 steals per game as a junior before COVID shutdown
  • Ranked as a top-5 Canadian recruit in 2021 and was considered one of the top rebounding guards in the country
Kam Gibson
6-3 • 190 • G • Sr. • Cincinnati, Ohio • Walnut Hills H.S./Western Carolina
"Kam is a talented scorer. He plays at his own pace and has a nice feel for the game. He should be able to step in and have a significant role right away," said Becker.
  • Transfers to Vermont after three seasons at Western Carolina where he averaged 10.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per game, as well as a 39.0% three-point percentage
  • Named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team in 2018-19 and logged a career-high 34 points at SMU as a rookie

Evan Guillory
6-2 • 208 • G • FY • Springfield, Mo. • New Hampton School
"Evan is another gifted athlete. Having played for my former graduate assistant Andy Gale at New Hampton has helped his transition. He is a terrific defender and super competitive. Evan and Sam are the future of the program," said Becker.
