BOSTON – Vermont first-year
Adrian Schulze Solano has been named America East Rookie of the Week after netting his first collegiate goal against Siena. The league announced its weekly awards on Monday afternoon.

Schulze Solano registered the first goal of his NCAA career on Tuesday (Sep. 21) in Vermont's 2-2 tie against the Siena Saints. The first-year's goal came in the 45th minute when he helped the Catamounts convert on a corner kick in the final seconds of the opening half. Schulze Solano's goal was the second of two goals coming off set pieces for Vermont.
The Bad Soden am Taunus, Germany native registered two shots for UVM, which was a season-high for the rookie defender.
Schulze Solano is the first Catamount to receive Rookie of the Week honors this season. He is the second to win a weekly award –
Nate Silveira has earned Defensive Player of the Week twice this season.
Vermont men's soccer continues its non-conference schedule on Tuesday (Sep. 28) when it visits Syracuse (4-4-1, 1-2-0 ACC) at SU Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is schedule for 7 p.m. and can be seen live on ACC Network Extra.
