BOSTON – Vermont senior
Finn Sullivan has been named America East Player of the Week, after his team-high 19.5 scoring average in UVM's two wins last week. The league announced its awards on Monday. Sullivan is the second Catamount in as many weeks to earn the Player of the Week honor.
Sullivan opened the week with a team-high 19 points in Vermont's explosive 98-65 win over Stony Brook on Wednesday (Jan. 12). The senior was an impressive 4-for-5 from long range and 6-for-8 overall on the night. Sullivan's four treys led the Catamounts, who sank a program-best 19 three pointers against the Seawolves.
The UVM guard added a career-high six three pointers on Saturday (Jan. 15) in Vermont's 86-69 victory at UMBC. Sullivan sank five of his six treys in the first half. The senior registered a season-high 20 points against the Retrievers.
Sullivan was 58.8% from long range and sank 59.1% of his field goal attempts in UVM's 2-0 week. The San Diego, California native is 40.0% from deep this season, which ranks third on the Catamounts.
