COACH'S QUOTE
"We are again grateful for the opportunity to take a short trip down the road to a fantastic facility at Middlebury," said head coach
Matt Belfield. "Some good competition at a nearby location with a pretty short meet schedule is certainly good for us during this pandemic. We'll expect some quality performances again from those competing, and will do all we can to win as many events as possible.  Hopefully we'll get everyone back soon, and be able to have some even better team performances."

BACK-TO-BACK WINS FOR UVM MEN
The Vermont men have opened the season with wins in their first two meets, most recently coming a week ago at the Middlebury Winter Classic (Jan. 15). The Catamounts had matching first-place finishes with Maine in the season-opening meet at Dartmouth on Dec. 11. First year
Cameron Kirn took first place in the 500-meter dash (1:07.99) and ran a leg for the winning 4x400-meter relay team a week ago at Middlebury.
Jake Bair continued his hot start with a 200-meter victory and a time of 22.75 seconds. The junior was named America East Male Track Performer of the Week prior to Winter Break.Â

A WIN FOR THE WOMEN AT MIDDLEBURY
Last week's Middlebury Winter Classic was also a successful one for the UVM women. The Catamounts secured first place with 161 points, led by
Sofia Wittmann's 3.50-meter pole vault that was the third-highest jump in Vermont indoor history. Wittmann's pole vault also ranks third on the America East performance list this season.
Jane Leighton logged first-place finishes in the 800-meter and mile competitions, with times of 2:25.02 and 5:07.21, respectively. The senior's adjusted mile time of 5:04.20 ranks third in the conference.Â
