BURLINGTON, Vt. – Men's cross country senior
Andrew Crompton, a Microbiology major, is our TD Bank Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending October 30.
At the 2022 America East Cross Country Championships in Kingsville, Md. Crompton led the Vermont men with a career-best mark of 24:16.1 to secure fifth-place and All-Conference First Team honors. The senior's finish was the highest by a Catamount in the men's championships since Doug Maisey's third-place finish in 2009.
Crompton also received the Elite 18 Award for exemplifying excellence on the course and in the classroom. This award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the final site at each of the America East's 18 team championships. Crompton carries a 4.0 GPA in Microbiology.
Vermont cross country returns to action next Friday (Nov. 11) when they head to Bronx, N.Y. for the NCAA Northeast Regionals. The event kicks off at 11 a.m. at Van Cortlandt Park.
