SCOUTING THE ROCKETS

Toledo suffered a 100-85 loss at Marshall on Saturday afternoon. JT Shumate (19.6 ppg) and RayJ Dennis (19.3 ppg) lead the Rockets' offense and are ranked No. 28 and No. 37 nationally in scoring. Dennis is No. 11 in the country in assists per game (6.1). Toledo is one of the more efficient offensive teams in the country, ranked No. 32 in adjusted offensive efficiency by KenPom. The Rockets were picked No. 2 in the MAC Preseason Poll after winning the regular season in 2021-22.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont and Toledo meet for the third time in series history, and the first time in Burlington. The Catamounts and Rockets last met in the 2009-10 season, with UVM taking an 82-49 victory. Maurice Joseph scored 21 points to lead Vermont.

CLIMBING THE ALL-TIME LIST
Cioffi Men's Basketball Head Coach John Becker can tie Tom Brennan for the most wins in program history (264) with a victory Tuesday against Toledo. The UVM bench boss has recorded 20 of his wins in the America East Tournament, which ranks second in league history.

NON-CONFERENCE GRIND
Toledo will be Vermont's eighth opponent that earned a postseason bid a season ago. The Rockets are one of three opponents to make the NIT in 2021. The Catamounts have already faced five NCAA Tournament teams during non-conference play, and will face one more when they visit Miami (Dec. 28) before their focus turns to league opponents.
