TRACK & FIELD NOTEBOOK
Vermont track & field begins the 2022 outdoor season on Saturday (Mar. 26) when it travels to Lowell, Mass. for the season-opening UMass Lowell Invitational. Events kick off at 10:30 a.m. at Cushing Field Complex. Fans can follow the action with live results provided by Lancer Timing.

THE FIELD
The Catamounts will be competing against the host River Hawks, as well as Boston University, Harvard, Hartford, Keene State, and Stonehill.

RALEIGH RELAYS
A pair of Catamounts will be competing in the Raleigh Relays at NC State on Friday (Mar. 25).
Sonia John will race in the 400-meter dash, which is scheduled to start at 3:15 p.m.
Jane Leighton starts the 3000-meter steeplechase at 6:20 p.m. Results can be found at

ALL-ACADEMIC CATS
Andrew Crompton and
Jane Leighton received All-Academic honors for their work during the indoor season on Thursday (Mar. 24). The UVM duo both received conference honors for the third time in their respective careers.

LOOKING AHEAD TO THE AE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Vermont will host the 2022 America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 7 & 8 at the Frank H. Livak Track & Field Facility. The Catamounts host the conference championships for the first time since 2016.

OUTDOOR RECORD HOLDERS
Four current Catamounts hold UVM outdoor records.
Sonia John ran a record-setting time of 54.48 seconds in the 400-meter dash at the New England Outdoor Championships.
Alex Siaton logged a program-best 400-meter dash last season with a time of 48.05 seconds at the America East Championships. In 2019,
Eli Ogilvie and
DJ Snide ran legs of the record-setting 4x400 relay time of 3:15.96 along with former Cats,
Justin Liechty and Dan DeBlieck.
