ALBANY, N.Y. – The Vermont men's lacrosse team made it five wins in a row and clinched a spot in the America East Tournament with a 14-6 victory on the road at UAlbany Saturday afternoon at Tom and Mary Casey Stadium.
With the win Vermont improves to 7-6 and 4-0 in league play while the Great Danes fall to 4-7 and 2-3 in conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Liam Limoges and Thomas McConvey got the offense started for the Cats both collecting a pair of David Closterman feeds from X and finishing on the doorstep for a 2-0 lead.
- After the Great Danes cut that lead in half, UVM scored four straight goals – by four different Catamounts – to build a 6-1 lead at the 2:05 mark of the first quarter.
- UAlbany's Teioshonta McComber scored his fourth goal of the season to cut the lead to 6-3 early in the second quarter.
- Vermont's defense clamped down the remainder of the half forcing three Great Dane turnovers that turned into four more UVM goals and a 10-4 lead at the half.
- Ryan Cornell stood on his head in the third quarter making eight of his 13 saves in the third.
- Meanwhile, Charlie Pope scored the final two Catamount goals – the final insurance in the Cats' sixth straight win over UAlbany.

- McCormack's first of two goals on the day was the 100th of his career spread across time at Middlebury College and UVM.
- In his last three games against UAlbany, Thomas McConvey has 12 goals.
