COACH'S QUOTE
"It was a pretty good day down here in Williamsburg," head coach
Matt Belfield said. "We had a couple rookies get some big meet experience and some veterans close out some outstanding careers. Wyatt, Bill, and Matt have given this program so much, and we coaches are very grateful. Their names will be on record lists for a long time to come. Emma and Carolena will come back strong next year as sophomores, and will be young leaders for the Catamounts. It is hard to see young people disappointed in their performances, but the sting of disappointment can be a great teacher. I'm excited that Jane is coming back for her last year of eligibility, as I know she has some goals still to reach. Her fourth-place finish in the steeple today was an extraordinarily good effort, and despite falling a little short of the national standard, it finished off a tremendous season. I'm looking forward to watching the three women competing tomorrow, each likely for the last time in Green & Gold. They are all team captains who truly love UVM track & field. And a quick shoutout to those who performed brilliantly at New England's as well. I followed as best as I could on my phone and was excited to see many more excellent season finales."
