COACH'S QUOTE
"My congratulations go out to the University at Albany for their victories," head coach
Matt Belfield said. "Along with UMass Lowell, you can see what a tremendous commitment to the sport can produce. I am very grateful to all who helped us put on a great championshp.
Michael Thompson,
Joe Gingras, and
Kasey Hill need to be recognized here for exemplary time commitment and excellence of work. My team never ceases to amaze me with their efforts to see that our program represents all that is good about sport. We have more work to do, but I know we have so many who are willing to keep making the most of the opportunity we have. Congrats to Lauren for earning the title of America East's best all-around athlete by winning the heptathlon. Her performance in the open 100-meter hurdles was pure guts after finishing that 800-meter at the end of the heptathlon. Congrats also to new 200-meter school record holder
Alex Siaton. He was a beast this weekend, racing three 400s, two 200s, and anchoring our second-place 4x100. Bill took the 800-meter final out hard and made it legit; and his runner-up finish is something to be proud of for sure. He was only beaten by a tremendous effort from the gentleman from UAlbany. We are going to see what peak performances we can generate in a couple championship meets next weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing what we will accomplish."
