EUGENE, Ore. – Former UVM track & field standout, Yolanda Ngarambe '14 has qualified for the World Athletics Championships, and will compete in the first round of the 1500-meter run on Friday (July 15) at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field. Ngarambe will race in Heat 1 of the 1500-meter run, which is slated to begin at 9:10 p.m. ET. The World Athletics Championships will broadcast live on Peacock and USA Network.

Ngarambe enters the championships ranked No. 48 in the world in the 1500-meter run. The Stockholm, Sweden native owns a personal-best mark of 4:03.43 in the 1500, and is the current Swedish indoor mile record holder. Her personal-best mark came in the semifinals of the 2019 World Athletics Championships.
