COACHES QUOTE
"Great to get the season started, and I'm pleased that we have some very positive things to build upon," said head coach Matt Belfield. "For Gabby and Alex to both get school records in the 300m first meet out took some courage, as that race requires going out really hard and enduring some lactic acid in the last 100. Also impressed with how many of our rookies managed their first collegiate meets with poise."Â
 HOW IT HAPPENED
- Garrow led all scorers for the Catamounts with 12 points as she placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.28. She also placed fifth in the high jump.Â
- Broza scored eight points as she finished second in the long jump and jumped 5.40 meters. The jump leaves her .08 meters off the top-10 in program history.
- Kevin Mills and Pierce DeBoer each picked up five points as they both jumped 1.85 in the high jump, which was tied for fourth best.Â
- Siaton set the record again as he bested his time by .39 seconds and finished fourth, picking up five points with a time of 34.73.Â
- Rausa set the school record at 41.23, beating her previous best by almost half a second.Â
NOTES
- The Catamounts set two school records at the meet. However, the record for the fastest collegiate 5000 meters run by both men and women was set today during the meet. Parker Valby of Florida established the new record by almost 15 seconds in the women's race. In the men's race, Graham Blank of Harvard broke the record for the second time as he ran the 5000 meters in 13:03.Â
