WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
The 11th ranked Catamounts will host UNH and Maine this weekend in their final regular season home action of the 2022-23 campaign. UVM will host the Wildcats the 6 p.m. on Friday and then on Saturday it is Senior Day presented by the UVM Alumni Association and the Catamounts will host Maine at 3 p.m.

Friday and Saturday's contests will air on ESPN+ with Rob Ryan on the call. Saturday's Senior Day game will also be broadcast live in Canada on TSN+. The games will also be available on a pay-per-view basis internationally atÂ

FOUR YEARS TO REMEMBER
This weekend Vermont will honor its eight departing seniors –
Alex Gray,
Lilly Holmes,
Sini Karjalainen,
Corinne McCool,
Cam Morrissey,
Ellice Murphy,
Tynka Pátková and
Theresa Schafzahl. Over the last four years this octet has led UVM to new heights in Hockey East and nationally. The Catamounts have won a program record 57 games over their four-year stretch and were ranked in the top-10 for the first time in program history. They are also on the verge of posting back-to-back second place finishes in Hockey East.

BEECHER NAMED HOCKEY EAST ROOKIE OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY
Beecher had four goals and two assists in January helping the Catamounts solidify their top-15 ranking in the country and second place position in Hockey East. Beecher
scored the game-winning goal on January 6 against the Friars. UVM won three straight games against the Friars and Beecher scored in all three contests.

LEVESQUE NAMED HOCKEY EAST DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Senior defenseman
Sara Levesque was named Army ROTC Hockey East Defender of the Week by the league office Monday. She had three assists Friday in Vermont's 6-2 win over Merrimack. The three assists were a new career-high. It was also her first career three-point game. It was her sixth career multi-point game and third this season.

STRETCH RUN MEANS STANDINGS WATCH
With four games to go in the regular season the race for home-ice in the quarterfinals is heating up. Right now, it's a five-team race for the coveted top-four spots. Keep in mind with the current league format a total of three points is up for grabs in each game. With two points gained by Vermont this weekend or two points dropped by UConn the Catamounts will clinch home-ice in the quarterfinals. If Vermont clinches a home quarterfinal it will be contested Saturday, February 25 at 1 p.m.

YOU DON'T WANT TO TRAIL VERMONT
The Catamounts are 13-0-1 this season when leading after the first period and 14-0-0 when leading after two periods. In nine of its 10 losses, this season Vermont has trailed after the opening period.

LONG CHANGE, LONG PERIOD
The Catamounts have been most effective this season during the second period, when both teams have the long change. UVM has outscored its opponents 33-16 in the second and outshot teams 300-198.

OFFENSE AND DEFENSE AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS
With 3.0 goals-per game the Catamounts offense ranks 13th in the NCAA. Vermont has scored five or more goals seven times in 29 games this season. Vermont is giving up just 1.9 goals per game which is tied for 12th best in the NCAA. Dating back to February 9, 2020 Catamounts are 26-0-0 when scoring four or more goals.

UNH enters the weekend in eighth place in Hockey East with 28 points, they sit three points back of Maine and five behind Boston University. UNH is 4-3-0 in Hockey East play in 2023, including a win over No. 15 UConn 3-0 on January 29. The Wildcats are 4-10-0 this season on the road but they have won two of their last three.Sophomore forward Kira Juodikis was named Hockey East Player of the Week on Monday. She had four goals and one assist last weekend for the Wildcats. She scored the game-winner in UNH's 7-4 win at Holy Cross. She leads the Wildcats in scoring with 16 goals and nine assists for 25 points.
SERIES HISTORY
The Catamounts are 17-30-6 in the all-time series with the Wildcats as the conference foes square off for the 54th time this weekend. Vermont is 3-2-0 against the Wildcats over the last two seasons including a 2-1-0 record at Gutterson Fieldhouse. UVM won their only matchup at home against the Wildcats last season 4-2 on January 30. SCOUTING THE BLACK BEARS
Maine has gained at least a point in each of its last five games with a 2-1-2 record. The Black Bears sit in seventh place in Hockey East two points behind Boston University. In their last outing on February 3 they fell 2-1 in overtime at Holy Cross. The Black Bears will travel to Merrimack Friday evening at 4 p.m.

Sophomore forward
Mira Seregély leads the Black Bears in scoring with 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points. The Catamounts held her off the scoresheet in their two-game series at Alfond Arena in early November.

SERIES HISTORY
This weekend's contest will be the 63rd all-time meeting between Vermont and Maine. The Catamounts have a 24-28-10 record in the all-time series. Vermont has won the last five meetings in the series between the two teams. Maine's last win over Vermont came on February 28, 2021 a 3-1 win over the Catamounts in the Hockey East Quarterfinals.

CZECH-MATES EARN BRONZE
Vermont forwards Tynka Pátková & Natálie Mlýnková earned bronze medals at the 2022 IIHF Women's World Championships in Denmark in September. Czechia defeated Switzerland 4-2 in the bronze medal game behind two goals from Mlýnková. It was Czechia's first-ever medal on the women's side. Former Catamount Blanka ŠkodováÂ
was also a member of the team.
