TRACK & FIELD NOTEBOOK
Vermont track & field will compete in the New England Championships (May 12 & 13) and ECAC & IC4A Championships (May 13 & 14) this weekend. The New England Championships will take place at Northeastern's Solomon Outdoor Track in Dedham, Massachusetts. The ECAC & IC4A Championships will be at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Virginia.

ECAC & IC4A CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Catamounts will send a small group to George Mason for the ECAC & IC4A Championships. The entries include

JANE'S NCAA BID
Graduate student,
Jane Leighton, is currently No. 38 on the NCAA Division I East Outdoor Qualifying List with a mark of 10:25.97. Leighton needs to remain in the top 48 to qualify for the NCAA East First Round (May 24-27) in Jacksonville, Florida.

TRIARSI RETAINS THE TITLE
Lauren Triarsi successfully defended her heptathlon title last week at 2023 America East Outdoor Championships. The senior became the first Catamount to win back-to-back America East heptathlon titles. Triarsi posted a career-best score of 4,601 points, which included a personal-best mark in the javelin (28.53m).

ALL-CONFERENCE CATS
Triasi led a group of four Catamounts who registered America East All-Conference performances at the conference championships.
Kayla Myers was also All-Conference in the heptathlon, posting a third-place finish and personal-best score of 4,095 points.
Sophie Christopher logged a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:04.87.
Alex Siaton ran a personal-best time of 21.66 seconds to lock up third place in the men's 200-meter dash.

4x400 RECORD

Cameron Kirn, and Siaton combined for a school-best 4x400-meter relay time of 3:15 on Sunday at the America East Championships. The four Catamounts bested the UVM men's track & field record that was set back in 2019.
