BURLINGTON, Vt. – The 12th-ranked Vermont men's soccer roster will feature 11 new additions to the program for the 2023 campaign.

Four different countries are represented in UVM's incoming class, which is made up of seven first-years, three NCAA transfers, and one international transfer.
 
Gianluca Armellino
5-9 • 160 • F • Milford, Conn. • New England Revolution Academy

• Joins the Catamounts after capturing the MLS Next Cup with the New England Revolution Academy.
• Rated as a four-star recruit by TopDrawerSoccer.

Jake Ashford
6-2 • 165 • D • Shawnee, Kan. • Creighton

• Transfers to Vermont after four seasons at Creighton, where he and the Blue Jays advanced to the NCAA College Cup in 2022.
• Spent the last two summers in the Green Mountain State, playing for Vermont Green FC, and was team captain in 2023.

Nash Barlow
5-10 • 170 • M • Burlington, Vt. • Worcester Academy

• Returns to his home state after going undefeated at Worcester in 2022, and claiming a New England Prep School Championship, as well as a National Prep School Championship.
• Was named 2022 New England Prep School Player of the Year.

Pieter Bultman
6-3 • 180 • D • Lexington, Mass. • Lexington

• Joins the Catamounts after graduating from Lexington High School.
• Played club soccer for New England Surf SC.

Niels Hartman
6-2 • 175 • D • Gibraltar, Gibraltar • Loughborough

• Comes to Vermont after four seasons at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom.
• Represented Gibraltar in UEFA Qualifying this summer, where he matched up against Kylian Mbappe and the French National Team.

Owen Jack
6-3 • 185 • GK • Cape Coral, Fla. • Stetson

• Transfers to UVM from Stetson, where he posted a .714 save percentage and six shutouts in 22 games played.
• Started in 12 games in 2022, leading the Atlantic Sun Conference in saves (53), save percentage (.779) and save per game (4.42).

Carter Johnson
5-11 • 166 • M • Herriman, Utah • Utah Valley

• Transfers to Vermont after four seasons at Utah Valley, where he saw action in 59 games, recording 14 points on four goals and six assists.
• Was the Utah High School Gatorade Player of the Year in 2018.

Jack Labelle
5-11 • 161 • D • Peabody, Mass. • New England Revolution Academy

• Comes to Vermont after earning an MLS Next Cup title with the New England Revolution Academy.
• Was teammates with fellow incoming classmate, Gianluca Armellino.

TJ Liquori

• Joins the Catamounts after an undefeated season at Worcester in 2022, and a New England Prep School Championships, as well as a National Championship.
• Was named captain and MVP of the Worcester Academy squad in 2022. 

Nick Lockermann
5-11 • 175 • M • Nuremberg, Germany • SSV Regensburg II

• Comes to Vermont after a season with SSV Regensburg II in the Bayernliga Nord.
• Scored two goals in 28 games played as a midfielder.

Jeremy Tsang
5-11 • 155 • D • Sai Kung, Hong Kong • Black Rock FC

• Comes to Vermont after graduating from Northwood School in Lake Placid, New York.
• Played soccer for Black Rock FC.

 
Vermont begins the 2023 campaign on Thursday, August 24 when it hosts Western Michigan at Virtue Field. The opening draw is set for 6 p.m. ET and will broadcast live on ESPN+.
