BURLINGTON, Vt. – The defending America East Champions continue the 2024-25 campaign this weekend as they travel to the Empire State for a pair of meets. On Friday at 4:15 p.m. UVM will face Army and Central Connecticut State from West Point. Then on Saturday the Catamounts will trek over to Poughkeepsie to face Marist at 1 p.m.

SCHLEMMER AND HOUSE LEAD THE WAY
In the Catamounts season opening meet against Northeastern last weekend
Natalie Schlemmer and
Jackie House led the way for Vermont each winning two events. Schlemmer won the Catamounts first individual event of the season claiming the 200 Free in a time of 1:57.65. She also won the 100 Breast Saturday, outpacing the field by .89 seconds.
House won the 100 Free and the 500 Free for Vermont. She claimed the 100 Free with a time of 52.93 and the 500 Free with a mark of 5:10.52.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Army: The Black Knights are coming off a second-place finish at the 2024 Patriot League Championships. Last weekend in their season opening meet with Fordham and Marist they defeated both schools and collected 34 top-five finishes in the meet.
CCSU: The Blue Devils are back-to-back defending champions of the NEC. They were tabbed to repeat in the Preseason NEC Coaches Poll. Friday evening will be their first action of the 2024-25 campaign.
Marist: The Red Foxes finished in third place last season at the MAAC Championships. In the preseason coaches poll they were picked third again this season. Sophomore April Avila was named MAAC's Women's Swimmer of the Week after earning two second place finishes in West Point last weekend.
FAMILIAR FACE ACROSS THE DECK
The Catamounts will look across the deck Friday evening and see yet another alumnae in the coaching ranks. Kelly Lennon '18 is the Associate Head Coach for the Army women's program. She also serves as the women's recruiting coordinator in that role.
A three-time America East All-Conference honoree, she was named the America East nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year in 2018 and earned the UVM Athletic Department's Jeff Stone Memorial Award at the Rally Awards.
