BURLINGTON, Vt. – No. 23 Vermont (9-2-4, 4-1-1 AE) closes out the regular season Tuesday night hosting Binghamton (8-6-3, 2-3-1 AE) at 6 p.m. from Virtue Field. With a win the Catamounts can clinch their first outright America East Regular Season title since 2017. The action will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Ryan Zimmerman on the call.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP
- The Bearcats are 2-1-2 in their last five games, they enter the final match day in America East action in sixth place with seven points. They are two points ahead of UMass Lowell and three points up on UAlbany in the race for the final spot in the six-team America East Tournament.
- Senior defender Luke Yates and sophomore forward Anthony Randazzo have each scored a team-high four goals for the Bearcats this season.
- Vermont and Binghamton have met 24 times since the Bearcats joined America East in 2002. The Catamounts are currently on a nine-game unbeaten streak versus the Bearcats and own a 16-5-3 overall mark in the series.
- Last season the Catamounts blasted the Bearcats 5-0 in Vestal. Sydney Wathuta, Max Murray, Yaniv Bazini, and Zach Barrett scored for Vermont.
- Binghamton's most recent victory over a nationally-ranked team was a 2-1 victory against New Hampshire on 9/29/18. The Wildcats were ranked 23rd at that time.
CATS WELL-POSITIONED IN RPI
Vermont is currently No. 23 in the NCAA RPI Rankings after its 2-1 win over UMass Lowell on Friday. The Catamounts are the highest-rated America East school, ahead of New Hampshire (No. 48) and Bryant (No. 68). America East is rated as the ninth-toughest league among the 22 NCAA Division I conferences sponsoring men's soccer.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS ON VERMONT
- Since 2021 the Catamounts are 20-0-0 when scoring three or more goals.
- Vermont's current .733 winning percentage is 17th best in the NCAA.
- The Catamounts offense and depth has come through time and time again this season. UVM has scored 12 goals in the 76th minute or later and nine goals in the 83rd minute or later this year.
- Sydney Wathuta leads the team and America East with 10 assists this season. His 10 assists are tied for fourth best in Division I. His .71 assists per game is also ranked fourth nationally.
- The Catamounts are a +17 in terms of goal differential this season, which ranks first in America East and tied for 16th in the NCAA.
GOALTENDING TANDEM LEADS THE WAY
- Vermont's Lou Liedtka (4-1-3, .810 Save %) and Niklas Herceg (5-1-1, .844 Save %) have been outstanding this season for the Catamounts. Collectively the Catamounts .824 save percentage is fifth best in the NCAA.
- Herceg was named America East Rookie of the Week on Monday for the second time this season. He made a career-high seven saves Friday at UMass Lowell.
AMERICA EAST PLAYOFF PICTURE
- Vermont currently has 13 points in league play and is two points ahead of New Hampshire. Last season the AE Regular Season Champion had 15 points. Since 2012 the top-seed in the America East Tournament has had between 15-19 points.
- The Catamounts will be the top-seed with a win Tuesday night, or a tie combined with a UNH non win or a tie combined with a NJIT win or a loss combined with a UNH non win and a UMBC non win.
- Vermont would be the three seed and lose the bye to the semifinal with a loss Tuesday night combined with a UNH win and UMBC win.
