COACH'S QUOTE
"Great to see the men's team score a bunch more points on Day 2," said head coach
Matt Belfield on the New England Championships. "
Alex Siaton continues to impress with both the quality and consistency of performance.
Jameson Sparks also showed he can run in back-to-back championships.
Bridget Kosky and
Ryleigh Garrow had good performances in the triple jump again and are showing they can perform at a high level as rookies. Some bad luck for
Sophia Filali in the hurdles, but her toughness will serve her well in the coming years. Strong finish for
Kayla Myers to finish the heptathlon with a career-best total points."
"Excited to have some great all-time performance down here at George Mason," Belfield said on the ECAC Championship performances. "Both
Emma Wapshare and
Lily Porth finished just outside of scoring, but Lily's PR and Emma's clutch last throw to get into finals showed great poise. So grateful for Lily for an extraordinary career as a Catamount. Getting us on the scoreboard for the meet was
Clare Kelly with her outdoor 5000 personal-best for sixth place. Also proud of Abigail Martin and
Caroline Deiss for getting to this meet and laying it all out there one more time."
