BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont (2-4-2) will open America East Conference play against UMBC (6-2-2) on Sunday, September 20th. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Sunday's match is the annual Rally Around Mental Health game presented by Redstone and Senior Day.

Rally Around Mental Health game presented by Redstone and Senior Day 

Fans can receive bubble wands, bendeez sticks, and other small prizes, courtesy of Redstone for Rally Around Mental Health. The Senior Day ceremony will be postgame as we will recognize our seven seniors: Emma Warren, Sydney Slusser, Elizabeth Sommeling, Aubrey Bough, Bridget Kennedy, Madeline Gardner, and Abigail Mills. 

VERMONT OUTLOOK  

• Vermont is coming off a 2-0 win against Adelphi. 

• This will be the 23rd matchup between Vermont and UMBC. Vermont leads the all-time series (14-5-4) and has won the last three matches against the Retrievers. 

• Sophia Kling ranks 5th in the America East in saves per game (3.9). Kling leads the Catamounts with 31 saves this season.  

• Eleni Stowell has scored at least one goal in the past three matches.  

SCOUTING THE Retrievers  

• UMBC is currently (6-2-2) this season and is coming off a 2-0 win against Longwood.  

• Last season, the Retrievers went (6-8-4) and went (2-5-1) in America East play. Vermont defeated UMBC on the road last year 2-0. 

• UMBC was picked 8th in the America East Preseason Coaches' Poll. 

• Retrievers' forwards Zoe Brossman and Brooke Clagett each lead the team in goals (4).
