Zoey McNabb won in her debut for the Vermont women and Graduate Transfer
Eamon Burke captured a victory in his first race as a Catamount for the men. Both teams picked up wins against UMass Lowell in the 2026 opener.

COACHES QUOTE
"It's nice to have newcomers come in right away and make an immediate impact" said Head Coach Matt Bellfield. In Eamon (Burke's) case he is a Grad Transfer and has plenty of experience. Happy to see him up front in the Green and Gold. On the women's side with Zoey (McNabb), it's great to keep her home here in Vermont. She made an immediate impact. Siena's in better shape than she was last year and Zoe is still ahead of her so that's a great one-two punch for us. Some work to do to tighten up the pack. But we are young and ambitious and will get there."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- McNabb, the first year from Hinesburg, Vt., bolted out to an early lead and finished her first race in the Green and Gold at 17:35.50 to collect the win.
- Catamounts finished in the top four places in the women's race and nine of the top ten.
- Siena Stanley improved on her race winning time from 2025 by posting a 17:47.20 to finish in second.
- Isabella Fryer cruised to a top-three finish at 18:30.00 for the Catamounts.
- In fourth was Lydia Donahue, from Hinesburg, Vt. and teammates with McNabb at Champlain Valley Union. She finished at 18:37.90 in her first race representing Vermont.
- Niav Murphy (18:48.70) finished sixth with Grace DeLisle (18:51.50) seventh. Reese Bradbury (19:04.60) finished eighth, Ellery Klatka (19:05.90) ninth, and Lila Pritham (19:07.10) completed the top-ten.
- In the men's four-mile race Eamon Burke earned the win for the Catamounts at 20:23.60 in his first race, joining the program as a Graduate Transfer.
- Patrick Mozden opened his sophomore season with a third-place finish at 20:32.20. Freshman, Josiah Conley followed in his debut race in fourth, crossing the finish line in 20:36.60. Myles Napolitano rounded out the top five in 20:42.30.
- Will Just snuck into the top ten with a 20:56.40 to start 2026.
