BURLINGTON, Vt. – The University of Vermont women's basketball team will play 14 home games at Patrick Gymnasium in 2014-15. The complete schedule was announced on Thursday.
The Catamounts will host an exhibition game against neighboring Saint Michael's on November 8 in a final tune-up before the regular season starts. The Catamounts begin the regular season with a pair of home games against Brown (Nov. 15) and Bryant (Nov. 18).
Vermont will also face a challenging stretch of games around Thanksgiving. UVM travels to Boston U (Nov. 22) and Central Connecticut (Nov. 25), returns to Patrick Gymnasium to host Delaware (Nov. 29) and faces Syracuse (Dec. 1) and Sacred Heart (Dec. 3) on the road before closing out the stretch with a home game versus Dartmouth (Dec. 7).
UVM will also travel out to Wisconsin-Green Bay (Nov. 20) and host Cornell (Dec. 30) during the non-conference slate.
The Catamounts open up their America East schedule hosting Hartford on January 3. UVM will also host a special midday madness game on January 14 against New Hampshire. The game will tip off at 11:30 a.m.
UVM faces two-time defending America East Champion, Albany for the first time on January 29 at Patrick Gymnasium and makes a return visit to the Great Danes on March 1 in the regular season finale.
The early rounds of the 2015 America East Women's Basketball Championship will be held at Binghamton University. The Bearcats will host the tournament for the second time since 2007. The America East Championship game is slated for March 13 at 4:30 p.m.
The Catamounts return their top six scorers, 93.4 percent of their scoring, 89.6 percent of their rebounding and 84.8 percent of their assists for the 2014-15 season. Four newcomers also join the Catamounts this season: Emilie Cloutier (Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec/Rhode Island),
Katie Lavelle (5-9, G, Hicksville, N.Y./Long Island Lutheran),
Rachel Merrill (6-3, F, Owego, N.Y./Owego Free Academy) and
Sydney Smith (5-11, G, Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills).
