VAIL, Colo. – Former Catamounts Tim Kelley '13 and
Jonathan Nordbotten '14 will be competing in the slalom races at the 2015 FIS Alpine World Championships in Vail, Colorado. The competition begins February 2 and runs through February 15.
Kelley is representing the United States and the Redneck Racing team. He has competed in six FIS World Cup races this season. He won a pair of Nor-Am Cup races at Panorama, British Columbia in December and most recently competed in the FIS World Cup slalom race in Schladming, Austria.
At Vermont, Kelley was a three-time All-American and won the NCAA Slalom race in 2011. He helped the Catamounts capture the 2012 NCAA National Championship.
Nordbotten is skiing for his native Norway at the World Championships. He has competed in seven World Cup races this season. His best finish was 20th in the slalom at the race in Kitzbuehel, Austria on January 25.
Nordbotten, the 2013 NCAA National Champion in the giant slalom, was a five-time All-American at Vermont. He helped the Catamounts win the 2012 NCAA National Championship and earn national runner-up honors in his final year in 2014. He also led Vermont to four straight EISA Championships during his career.
