MIDWAY, UT. – Haley Brewster was the national runner up in the 20k Freestyle and
Tabor Greenberg rounded out the top three for the men in the 20k Freestyle, finishing third on Saturday afternoon from the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center. Both Brewster and Greenberg earned First Team All-American honors with their placements. Vermont finished the four-day competition with 334 total points, good for fifth place overall at the 2026 NCAA Championships, topping their eastern rivals Dartmouth by 20 points. The University of Utah, the host school, won the NCAA Championship with 549.5 total points.

The women Nordic squad kicked off day four of competition racing the 20k Freestyle mass start, seeing the Catamounts garner 77 total points, the most points in the field. Brewster earned her third career National Runner up finish, placing second in the 20k Freestyle racing a time of 52:22.4, earning First Team All-American recognition for the third time in her collegiate career. Lena Poduska earned Second Team All-American honors after rounding out the top 10 in 10th place, racing a time of 52:59.0 in her NCAA Ski Championships Freestyle debut.
Kristin Maltun Helland finished 12th in the 20k Freestyle, a career high finish in the NCAA Championships, securing 19 points for UVM with a run time of 53:19.9. University of Alaska Fairbanks' Rosie Fordham won the individual national title with a time of 51:54.6.
On the men's side of the 20k Freestyle race, Greenberg earned First Team All-American honors placing third in his NCAA Championships Freestyle debut, racing a time of 46:21.7, just 7.1 second away from the individual national title. Utah's Mons Melbye won the national title with a time of 46:14.6.
Ruben Kretzschmar finished in 21st with a time of 48:57.2, earning 10 points for the Catamounts.
Petter Bakken placed 33rd, racing a time of 51:49.4.
