ABOUT VERMONTThe Catamounts ended the regular season on a three-game winning streak, collecting victories over conference opponents UMBC (11-10), Hartford (14-11) and Binghamton (14-13) to secure the No. 3 seed in the America East playoffs. Vermont posted four wins in league play on the year, setting a new program record for most in a single season.
UVM boasts the 14
th-highest scoring offense in the nation, averaging 12.07 goals per contest after scoring double-digit goals in 11 straight games to close out the regular season. Sophomores
Ian MacKay and
Cam Milligan have led the Catamount attack, both ranking among the top-10 in America East in points and assists. The two top scorers have combined for 66 goals and 52 assists in 15 games on the year. Junior

Dyson White have also helped pace the offense, ranking third and fourth on the squad in points, respectively.
Luc LeBlanc has taken the majority of face-offs for Vermont and owns a .535 mark with a team-high 91 ground balls. Junior
Justin Rosenberg, who has registered three consecutive wins in goal, owns a .532 save percentage and 12.07 goals against average.

PROGRAM RECORDSWith a victory at Binghamton in the regular season finale, Vermont collected its fourth conference win of the year, which set a new record for most in a single season in program history. The No. 3 seed that the Catamounts earned also represents the best seed ever for the team in the America East Tournament.
MILLIGAN MAKING HIS MARKSophomore transfer
Cam Milligan put his name in the Vermont record books this season with a team-high 35 assists and 64 points. His 35 helpers are the fourth-most by a Catamount in a single season, and his 64 points put him in eighth place for the most in a season in program history. Milligan, who currently ranks among the top-15 in the nation in both assists and points, has tallied multi-assist efforts in 11 contests on the year.
MACKAY'S ON A ROLLIn the team's last 11 games, sophomore
Ian MacKay has registered multiple goals in each contest, including a season-high five tallies in the regular season finale victory at Binghamton. MacKay's notched game-winning goals in two of the last three games, scoring the game-clinching goal at UMBC with 1:08 remaining and the game-winner vs. Binghamton with just 10 seconds remaining.
THREE IN A ROWJunior goalie
Justin Rosenberg has led the Catamounts to three consecutive victories to close out the regular season. The Boyds, Maryland native has combined for 44 saves in the three tilts, including a season-high 18 in the win at UMBC. Rosenberg was named both the ECAC New England Defensive Player of the Week and America East Co-Player of the Week after the 18-save performance and .643 save percentage against the Retrievers.

th in the Inside Lacrosse Poll, own a 12-4 overall record and 5-1 mark in America East this season. They've defeated UMBC (12-6), Vermont (21-12), UMass Lowell (20-9), Binghamton (14-13 OT) and Hartford (9-8 OT) in league play, while falling to Albany (17-15) for their lone conference loss.
Stony Brook is averaging 14.06 goals per contest, good for sixth most in the country, and is led by the team's top two scorers, Mike Rooney and Brody Eastwood, who have combined for 101 goals this season. Rooney ranks second in the nation with 6.13 points per game, and Eastwood places third in the country with 3.69 goals per contest. Hayden Johnstone has started the last four games in goal and 10 overall this season, and owns a .434 save percentage and 11.05 goals against average.

INSIDE THE SERIESVermont and Stony Brook will matchup for the 16
th time in series history on Thursday. The Seawolves topped the Catamounts earlier this season, 21-12, behind 11 points (3 g, 8 ast) from Mike Rooney and six (5 g, 1 ast) from Challen Rogers.
Dyson White and
Ian MacKay led the UVM attack with three goals apiece, while
James Barlow and
Michael Clarke each added three points on a pair of goals and one assist.
The two teams also matched up the last time UVM was in the playoffs back in 2010. The Catamounts fell in that contest to the eventual champion Seawolves by a final of 10-6.
NEXT UPThe winner of the semifinal matchup between Vermont and Stony Brook will head to the America East Championship game, which will be played in Albany on Saturday (May 2) at 10 a.m. The contest will be televised on ESPNU with Mike Corey and Quint Kessenich on the call.
