BURLINGTON, Vt. – Jonathan Nordbotten '14 and
Kristina Riis-Johannessen '15 of the Vermont ski team have been selected to the Norwegian Ski Federation World Cup and Europa Cup teams for the 2015-16 season.

SkiRacing.com article Nordbotten, a native of Kobotn, Norway, graduated from UVM in 2014 and will be skiing for the Norwegian World Cup team for the second straight year. Nordbotten completed in the slalom races at the 2015 FIS Alpine World Championships in Vail, Colorado in February and raced in seven World Cup events in 2014-15. He posted a season best finish of 20th in the slalom at Kitzbuehel, Austria in January.
Nordbotten, the 2013 NCAA National Champion in the giant slalom, was a five-time All-American at Vermont. He helped the Catamounts win the 2012 NCAA National Championship and earn national runner-up honors in his final season in 2014. Vermont also won four straight EISA Championships during his career.
Riis-Johannessen, a native of Oslo, Norway, will be on the Norwegian Women's Europa Cup squad. She recently completed her collegiate career with the Catamounts, finishing with 12 wins and 27 podium appearances. She was a five-time All-American and won the NCAA National Championship in the slalom in 2014.
Riis-Johannessen helped the Catamounts win the NCAA National Title in 2012 and finish as the national runner-up in 2014. Vermont also won four straight EISA Championships during her career.
