EISA DOMINANCEThe Catamounts won their second carnival of the season at Dartmouth, beating out the hosts by 30 points. UVM has won 23 of the last 25 EISA Carnivals.

EISA SKIERS OF THE WEEKLaurence St. Germain and
Dom Garand are the EISA Skiers of the Week among alpine racers. St. Germain earned a pair of wins at Dartmouth, while Garand was on the podium for both races and won the slalom.

ALPINE TEAMSkiing for the Catamounts for the first time in three years,
Morgan Megarry earned his first career victory on the EISA Circuit with a win in the giant slalom at Dartmouth. Megarry spent the first part of the season training with Team Canada and earned a World Cup start in the Super G at Kitzbuehel. Teammate
Dom Garand, the GS bib leader heading into the Williams Carnival, continued his streak of earning a podium spot in every race he has finished. Garand won the slalom at Dartmouth and was third in the GS.

On the women's side,
Laurence St. Germain returned to the Catamounts after training with Team Canada in Europe where she earned seven World Cup starts. St. Germain won both the slalom and GS races at Dartmouth, her first two career wins on the EISA Circuit.

THE NORDIC TEAMThe UVM men's team has dominated the classic discipline this season, placing first in the team standings of the event at every Carnival. At the race in the Dartmouth Carnival, four Catamounts finished in the top-10 led by senior
Jack Hegman. It was Hegman's third win of the season and first in the classic technique.

In the women's race,
MK Cirelli earned her third podium appearance of the season with a third place finish in the classic race.

PATTERSON DUO WORLD CUP UPDATEUVM alum Scott Patterson made his FIS Cross Country World Cup debut in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic. In his first career World Cup start, Patterson finished 42nd in the 15K freestyle. He also added an eighth place finish as a member of the 4x7.5K U.S. relay team. Patterson has starts for every World Cup race for the rest of the season and most recently competed in the races in Falun in Sweden where he finished 63rd in the 10K classic and 74th in the 15K skate mass start. Scott's sister Caitlin, also a UVM alum, made her World Cup debut in Oslo, competing in the 30K classic mass start race and finished as season-best 36th overall. Patterson most recently competed in the races in Falun, Sweden where she finished 40th in the 5K classic and 25th in the 10K skate mass start. Follow along on her personal blog (

NORDBOTTEN EARNS WORLD CUP POINTS FOR THIRD STRAIGHT RACEUVM alum Jonathan Norbotten '14 earned World Cup points for the third straight race. After posting back-to-back top-10 finishes in the slalom at Kitzbuehel and Schladming in Austria, Nordbotten added a 19th place finish in at Yuzawa Naeba in Japan. Nordbotten has earned seven consecutive World Cup starts for the Norwegian Team.

NEXT STOPThe EISA Circuit wraps up the season at the EISA Championships at the Middlebury Carnival on February 26-27. The alpine races will be held at the Middlebury Snow Bowl, while the Nordic races will take place at Rikert Touring Center.
