UVM SKIING NOTEBOOK
The UVM ski team continues the EISA schedule on Friday (Jan. 27) and Saturday (Jan. 28) at the UNH Carnival. The alpine races will be held at Cannon Mountain while the Nordic races will be held at Jackson Touring Center in Franconia, New Hampshire.

LAST TIME OUT | St. Lawrence Carnival Results
UVM skiing claimed a second-place finish at the St. Lawrence Carnival last Saturday. The Catamounts earned 837 points and trailed frontrunner Dartmouth by 131 points for the crown. The Big Green won six of the weekend's eight events but the green and gold captured the men's giant slalom and men's slalom races for 224 event points.
ALONG CAME PAULA
Paula Moltzan earned his first career win last weekend in her first carnival as a Catamount. She topped the competition in the women's slalom race with a combined time of 1:39.53. The freshman recorded a time of 50.77 in her first run but improved by two seconds in her second run to grab the top spot on the podium.
DAY TWO PRODUCTION
In the final day of the St. Lawrence Carnival, Vermont had nine skiers post a top-10 finish – Moltzan (1st, women's slalom),

CATAMOUNTS ON THE WORLD STAGE

Cully Brown and
Alayna Sonnesyn were selected for the U.S. U23 World Championship Team, while teammate
Bill Harmeyer earned a spot on the U.S. Junior World squad. A pair of UVM ski alums will also join the U23 Team –
Jack Hegman and
Cole Morgan. The quintet will travel to the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway, Utah for the World Junior and World U23 Championships from Jan. 30-Feb. 5.
MORGAN NAMED TO USA NORDIC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM
UVM ski team alum
Cole Morgan '16 was one of 17 athletes named to the U.S. Nordic World Championship Cross Country Team that will compete in the International Ski Federation's 2017 Nordic World Ski Championships next month in Lahti, Finland.

The EISA Carnival circuit moves to the Green Mountain State for the UVM Carnival on Feb. 3-4 in Stowe, Vermont. The alpine races will take place at Stowe Mountain Resort while the Nordic races will be held at the Trapp Family Lodge. Mark your calendars to cheer on the Catamounts.

The UVM Alumni Association will be hosting its annual Ski and Ride Days from Feb. 3-5 at Stowe. The UVM Alumni Association has secured the Alpine Lounge at Stowe all weekend long.
