SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES
Stony Brook brings back its swimming & diving program after it was placed on competitive hiatus five years ago for renovations to its pool. The last time the Seawolves competed in a meet was on Feb. 26, 2012. The program named two-time Olympian Janelle Atkinson as the head women's swimming & diving coach in February after spending the past three seasons as the head coach of Fairfield's men's and women's swimming & diving programs. Atkinson has a total of 13 student-athletes on the roster this season and all 13 are swimmers.Â
SCOUTING THE MINUTEWOMEN
UMass began its season by finishing second at the Colgate Invitational on Oct. 7 before falling at Army last Friday 195-103. Emma Roush took the top spot in both diving events at Army, posting the highest scores of 262.35 in the 1-meter dive and 262.13 in the 3-meter. The Minutewomen went 2-4 last year but earned a third-place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships in Ohio with 457 points. Bob Newcomb is in his 34th season as head coach of the program and has helped Massachusetts finish second at the A-10 meet twice in the last five seasons for the first time in school history.Â
UNH RECAP
UVM suffered its first loss of the season last Saturday at Swasey Pool, dropping a 169-131 final against conference rival UNH. The Catamounts moved to 1-1 (1-1 AE) for the year.Â

BINGHAMTON RECAP
UVM earned a 165-97 victory over America East rival Binghamton on Oct. 7 afternoon at NJIT in New Jersey to begin the regular season. The divers had their meet against the Bearcats at RPI cancelled. Hancock, Cowley,Â
Vivian Nguyen, and Lennon opened the meet by winning the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:00.39. Lennon was also an individual champion in the 200 and 500 freestyle as the Catamounts combined to win nine events against Binghamton.Â
Jess Gorham (59.56), Hancock (1:00.05), and Montgomery (1:01.23) went 1-2-3 in the 100 backstroke, and Montgomery, Rocheleau and Gorham later went 1-2-3 in a different order in the 200 back.
