AMHERST, Mass. – Vermont won five swimming events on Sunday afternoon at the Joseph R. Rogers, Jr. Pool, but the UMass divers led the Minutewomen to a 156-144 dual meet victory over the visiting Catamounts. UVM falls to 2-2 (1-2 AE), while UMass evens its record at 1-1.

Final Results
The backstroke was the Catamounts' top discipline in the pool on Sunday as UVM won both the 100 and 200.
Morgan Montgomery (2:07.16),
Dani Rocheleau (2:08.04), and
Jess Gorham (2:08.69) swept the top three positions in the 200, while Gorham (58.70) claimed the 100 with freshman
Laura Pringle (1:00.88) in third place.

Haley Gula (2:26.25) and
Shannon Cowley (2:26.60) were separated by less than half a second in the 200 breaststroke to collect a 1-2 finish. Cowley (1:05.73) and Gula (1:07.59) then switched places to register second and third in the 100 breast.

Rocheleau (1:54.53) and
Kelly Lennon (1:54.75) placed second and third in the 200 freestyle, while
Sierra Sexton (24.36) and
Kira Hancock (24.49) finished 2-3 in the 50 free. Lennon (5:11.11) and
Sophia Smith (10:45.53) also took second in the 500 and 1000 free respectively for UVM.

Alexy Novelli (2:10.08) and
Julia DeGregorio (2:10.67) were roughly a half second apart for second and third in the 200 butterfly, while Novelli took third in the 200-yard IM in 2:14.40. The team of Hancock, Lennon, Rocheleau, and Sexton combined to win the 400 free relay in 3:32.97.
Haley Tomlinson had the top scores for the Catamounts in the 1-meter (210.55) and 3-meter (225.10) diving events to earn fourth place in both behind a trio of Minutewomen, led by Emma Roush.

Vermont has next weekend off before hosting Maine on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 12 p.m. in the annual Rally Against Cancer Meet presented by Otter Creek Awnings and Vermont Custom Closets at Forbush Natatorium.
