Madelyn Hawker and 
Morgan Montgomery won individual events on Saturday, but UMass (2-1) took a 194-106 victory over Vermont (1-2) at Forbush Natatorium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Hawker took first in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:41.17. She beat the rest of the field by more than six seconds.
- Montgomery posted a time of 2:06.38 to take first in the 200 back. The junior later took second in the 200 IM with a mark of 2:14.47.
- Sophia Smith finished second in both the 200 free (1:57.10) and the 500 free (5:13.40), narrowly falling to Olga Egkorova (5:13.03) in the latter.
- Haley Gula finished second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:29.49. She also posted a time of 1:09.51 in the 100 breast.
- Taking second in the 200 fly was Julia DeGregorio (2:11.72). The Dover, N.H. native also finished fourth in the 100 fly (59.68).
- Emily Murphy finished third in the 1-meter diving with a score of 225.29 while Ashley Branagan finished fourth (205.72). On the 3-meter board, Branagan took third (208.95) and Murphy took fourth (201.36).

Vermont hosts Siena next Saturday (Oct. 27) in the annual Rally Against Cancer meet at 2 p.m. in Forbush Natatorium. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to support the fight against ALL cancers.
