CHARLEMONT, Mass. – The UVM ski team won three out of four events on Saturday and finished second at the Williams Carnival. The Catamounts recorded 910 points over the weekend and Dartmouth earned a carnival-best 990 points.

The Nordic team swept the freestyle 3.8K races and claimed four podium steps.
Alayna Sonnesyn won the women's race with an official time of 9:16.7.
Lina Sutro landed in second place about a second later at 9:17.3.
Margie Freed added a 10th-place finish for UVM at 9:45.3. In the men's race,
Karl Schulz cruised to the victory after crossing the line at 8:20.9.
Juri Miosga was right behind in second place at 8:21.9.
Bill Harmeyer was the fifth-fastest racer at 8:23.9.
Paula Moltzan completed the weekend sweep by winning the women's slalom race. The sophomore posted a combined time of 2:05.75. She was the second-fastest skier on the first run behind Dartmouth's Foreste Peterson, but topped Peterson by half of a second on the second run.
The Catamounts had four racers finish in consecutive order among the top-10 in men's slalom.
Spencer Smith came in fifth place at 1:53.82 and
Patrick McConville followed in sixth place at 1:54.16.
David Frisk trailed in seventh place at 1:54.18 and
Raphael Quenneville recorded an eighth-place finish with a total time of 1:54.29.
After Dartmouth and Vermont, Middlebury grabbed the final podium step with 756 points. New Hampshire earned fourth place with 675 points and host Williams placed fifth with 511 points.
Vermont will return to the mountain for the EISA Championships, hosted by Middlebury, on Friday (Feb. 23) and Saturday (Feb. 24). The alpine championships will take place at the Middlebury Snow Bowl while the Nordic championships will be hosted at the Rikert Nordic Center.
