MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – UVM alpine skier
Paula Moltzan completed the EISA season sweep by winning her sixth slalom race of the year on Friday at the EISA Championships. The Catamounts sit second in the team standings with 467 points, trailing only Dartmouth with 483 points.

Vermont claimed the top two podium steps in women's slalom as Moltzan won the slalom title by nearly two seconds at 1:35.89. She finished the race with the fastest times on both runs - 48:12 on her first run and 47:77 on the second run.
Francesca English won silver with a combined time of 1:37.12.
Madison Irwin earned a fifth-place for the Cats at 1:38.58.
In men's slalom,
Sandy Vietze also won silver for Vermont at 1:34.29.
Max Roeisland finished in seventh place at 1:35.74.
Alayna Sonnesyn was the third UVM skier to win silver on the afternoon. The senior was clocked at 13:26.2 in the women's 5K classic race behind Dartmouth's' Katharine Ogden.
Lina Sutro also placed seventh overall at 14:28.2. In the men's 10K classic, the Cats had three racers land in the top-10.
Bill Harmeyer finished in sixth place at 24:41.3, less than two seconds away from the top-five.
Juri Miosga was right behind Harmeyer in seventh place at 24:45.5 and
Karl Schulz followed in eighth place at 24:56.3.
After Dartmouth and UVM, Middlebury trails in third place with 384 points. UNH sits in fourth place after the first day with 314 points and Colby rounds out the top-five with 280 points.
The EISA Championships will wrap up with the giant slalom races and skate events on Saturday (Feb. 24). The alpine championships will be hosted at the Middlebury Snow Bowl and the Nordic championships will take place at the Rikert Nordic Center.

Join UVM Skiing for the 2018 UVM Ski Race and Pancake Breakfast on Sunday (Feb. 25) starting at 10 a.m. at
Cochran's Ski Area in Richmond. We will be setting an alpine dual style course, come join the fun as all abilities are welcome. Bring your Nordic skis as well and pick up some tips from our Nordic team.
