MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - After earning three silver medals on Friday, the UVM ski team added two more silver medals to its total at the EISA Championships on Saturday. The Catamounts finished second in the team standings behind Dartmouth with 841 points.

Alayna Sonnesyn placed second in the women's 15K freestyle race at 38:54.0. Dartmouth's Katharine Ogden won the title at 38:19.7.
Margie Freed and
Lina Sutro added two more top-10 finishes for the Catamounts. Freed landed in eighth place at 40:39.6 and Sutro followed in 10th place at 40:48.6.
In the men's 20K freestyle event, UVM had two racers rank in the top-five.
Cully Brown won the bronze medal with an official time of 46:31.4.
Henry Harmeyer crossed the line two seconds later in fourth place at 46:33.5.
Juri Miosga placed 10th at 46:51.1.
Max Roeisland collected the silver medal in the men's giant salom race with a combined time of 2:04.20. The junior was clocked at 1:01.11 on his first run and 1:03.09 on his second run.
Sandy Vietze finished in fifth place at 2:04.76. In women's giant slalom,
Mille Graesdal led the Catamounts in ninth place at 2:10.53.
Dartmouth won the NCAA Regional Championship with 979 points. After UVM, host Middlebury earned the bronze medal with 816 points. New Hampshire took fourth place with 580 points and Williams trailed in fifth place with 538 points.
Vermont will compete at the NCAA Ski National Championships from March 7-10, hosted by Colorado. The Nordic and slalom championships will take place at Howelsen Hill while the giant slalom championship will be held at Mt. Werner.
2018 UVM SKI & RACE & PANCAKE BREAKFAST – FEB. 25
Join UVM Skiing for the 2018 UVM Ski Race and Pancake Breakfast on Sunday (Feb. 25) starting at 10 a.m. at
Cochran's Ski Area in Richmond. We will be setting an alpine dual style course, come join the fun as all abilities are welcome. Bring your Nordic skis as well and pick up some tips from our Nordic team.
