STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – Vermont finished the 2018 NCAA Skiing Championships in fifth place overall with 330 points following the men's and women's Nordic freestyle races on Saturday at Howelsen Hill in Colorado.
Denver claimed the NCAA team title with 604 points, followed by host Colorado in second with 563. Dartmouth (448.5) and Utah (385.5) finished ahead of the Catamounts in third and fourth, respectively.

UVM closed the championship with seven All-Americans, all in alpine to rank third among all teams. The Catamounts also had the national runner-up in both slalom races on Friday night.
Finn O'Connell was the top Vermont finisher on Saturday in the freestyle, completing the 20K course in 55:14.0 to earn 14th.
Juri Miosga (55:36.7) crossed the finish line 22 seconds later in 17th, while
Cully Brown registered a time of 55:50.4 for 20th.
Margie Freed led the women's squad in the 15K race with a final time of 46:39.6 for 20th overall.
Lina Sutro (48:21.3) and
Alayna Sonnesyn (48:32.8) followed in 31st and 33rd for the Catamounts.
The NCAA Championships marked the final event of the 2018 season for UVM.
