"It's been a great week for our program to see so many people excel outside of the friendly confines of Gutterson Fieldhouse," head coach
Jim Plumer said. "Senior captain
Sammy Kolowrat excelled in her return to national team play and I have no doubt that Taylor, MacKenzie, and Gina will flourish in their careers in the CWHL. It's a real thrill to see so many of our alums playing professionally."
Kolowrat dressed in all three games for the Czech Nationals as they defeated Russia by a 6-2 final in the opening game before falling to Finland and Sweden by finals of 3-2 and 4-2, respectively. The Prague native recorded an assist in the opening win over Russia.
In the 2018 CWHL Draft in Toronto, Willard headlined the group as the 23rd overall selection by Les Canadiennes de Montréal. Last year's captain finished her career as UVM's all-time leading scorer among defensemen with 62 points.
The Toronto Furies selected MacNeil with the 25th overall pick, bringing the Ontario native to the province's capital. MacNeil skated in 140 career games in Green & Gold, finishing her career with a career-high 11 points in 2017-18.
Repaci, another former UVM captain, was taken 26th overall by the Markham Thunder. The Toronto defenseman skated in 135 games in her Catamount career and recorded 47 career points from the blue line.
The 2018-19 UVM season kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 29 as Vermont hosts McGill in a preseason exhibition at Gutterson Fieldhouse. The game is slated to begin at 4 p.m. and will be the fifth consecutive season the Cats played an exhibition game against McGill.
