CATAMOUNTS AT THE 2019 U.S. CROSS COUNTRY NATIONALS
Vermont had several skiers compete at Nationals which this year was hosted at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center in Craftsbury, Vt. Sophomore
Lina Sutro was the Catamounts top finisher, she placed fifth overall in the women's 20k Skate with a time of 1:00:49.4. Landgrove, Vermont native and freshmanÂ
Ben Ogden was the top Catamount in the men's 15k Classic placing 18th overall with a time of 43:32.9. With their performances in Craftsbury they have both qualified for the World Championships in Lahti, Finland in January. Ogden will compete for the United States at the FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships, while Sutro will represent the U.S. at the FIS U-23 World Ski Championships Cross-Country.

MOLTZAN AND ST. GERMAIN PAINT EUROPE GREEN AND GOLD

Paula Moltzan and
Laurence St. Germain have been in Europe competing in the FIS World Cup slalom circuit over the last month. Moltzan finished a career-best 12th overall on Tuesday at the slalom races held in Flachau, Austria. On December 29 St. Germain earned her first career top-10 finish, placing 10th in Semmering, Austria. Both Catamounts are expected to compete this weekend in Lake Placid.

SMITH STARTING 2019 ON THE PODIUM
In Mont Ste-Marie, Quebec on January 5 UVM sophomore and Woodstock, Vermont native
Spencer Smith earned a second-place finish in the Nor-Am Cup Parallel Slalom. It was a career-best finish for the Catamount in Nor-Am competition. As a freshman Smith earned a top-five finish for the first time at the Williams Carnival in the slalom.

The UVM Carnival is scheduled for Feb. 1-2 in Stowe, Vermont. The alpine races will take place at Stowe Mountain Resort while the Nordic races will be held at the Trapp Family Lodge. Mark your calendars to cheer on the Catamounts.

2019 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE BACK IN STOWE
This March the University of Vermont will be hosting the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2011. Competition will run Wednesday March 6 through Saturday March 9. Like the UVM Carnival alpine races will take place at Stowe Mountain Resort while the Nordic races will be held at Trapp Family Lodge.
