JACKSON, N.H. –
Bill Harmeyer led a podium sweep in the men's freestyle sprints and
Laurence St. Germain won the slalom on the final day of the UNH Carnival Saturday. Dartmouth (986 points) won the carnival followed by Vermont (849), Middlebury (738) and the host Wildcats (604).

For the second straight day Harmeyer earned the top of the podium. He was joined by teammates –
Karl Schulz in second place and
Matias Øvrum in third place. The Vermont men's team has won all four Nordic races this season.
After a DNF in the slalom at the St. Lawrence Carnival St. Germain claimed her first race-win of the 2019 campaign. Her combined time of 1:49.77 was almost two seconds faster than anyone else who finished both runs.
Francesca English placed tenth overall with a combined time of 1:55.37 and
Mille Graesdal added a 11th place finish for the Green and Gold at 1:56.10.
Margie Freed was the Vermont's top skier in seventh place in the women's freestyle sprint while freshman
Jenny Pedersen took eighth. The final Vermont scorer was junior
Lizzie Larkins in ninth place.
In the men's slalom race,
David Frisk came in 13th place with a combined time of 1:48.35.
Spencer Smith placed 16th overall at 1:49.19 and
Patrick McConville recorded a 36th-place finish at 1:52.66.
The EISA circuit takes a break next weekend before heading to Stowe for the annual UVM Carnival February 1-2. Nordic action will take place at Trapp Family Lodge, while the alpine competition will be at the Mount Mansfield Ski Club at Stowe Mountain Resort. Action gets underway on Friday, February 1 with the giant slalom at 9 a.m. The men's 10k Skate is slated for 9:30 a.m. with the women's 5k Skate at 11:30 a.m.
