Ben Ogden helped the United States win a gold medal in the 4x5-kilometer relay Saturday in Finland on the final day of competition at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships.

The Americans relay gold is just the sixth junior world medal in U.S. history. Ogden won a silver medal in the same relay for the United States last year.
Ogden's gold medal capped off a successful week of competition for the Landgrove, Vt. native. On January 20 Ogden was the top American skier in the Classic Sprint. He finished eighth overall with a time of 3:39.28. On January 24 Ogden earned another top-10 finish in the men's 30k Classic. Ogden was tenth overall with a time of 1:15:25.7, which was the second-best finish by an American.
UVM sophomore
Lina Sutro competed for the United States in Lahti in the U23 World Ski Championships. Her best finish came in the women's 10k skate. She was one of four Americans to finish in the top-30. Sutro finished 18th overall in a time of 27:44.9.
The Catamounts are back in action this weekend in Stowe for the annual UVM Carnival February 1-2. Nordic action will take place at Trapp Family Lodge, while the alpine competition will be at the Mount Mansfield Ski Club at Stowe Mountain Resort. Action gets underway on Friday, February 1 with the giant slalom at 9 a.m. The men's 10k Skate is slated for 9:30 a.m. with the women's 5k Skate at 11:30 a.m.
