SKIING NOTEBOOK
After a week off following the UNH Carnival the Catamounts are back in action this weekend at their home carnival in Stowe. The Nordic and alpine races will be Friday and Saturday. Nordic competition will take place at Trapp Family Lodge while the alpine races will be held at Mount Mansfield Ski Club at the Stowe Mountain Resort.

NORDIC MEN DOMINATION
So far this season the UVM men's Nordic squad has won all four races.
Bill Harmeyer earned the top of the podium at the UNH Carnival in the freestyle sprints and 20k Classic. At the St. Lawrence Carnival
Ben Ogden finished first in the 10k Skate and 10k Classic. The Catamounts have claimed 10 of the 12 podium positions in the four races this season.

CATS LOOKING FOR REDEMPTION
Last season Dartmouth narrowly defeated Vermont 969-932 at the UVM Carnival. Since the UVM Carnival last year the Big Green have won five of the last six EISA carnivals.

OGDEN AND SUTRO PAINT FINLAND GREEN AND GOLD
Ben Ogden helped the United States win a gold medal in the 4x5-kilometer relay last Saturday in Finland on the final day of competition at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships. Ogden's gold medal capped off a successful week of competition for the Landgrove, Vt. native. On January 20 Ogden was the top American skier in the Classic Sprint. He finished eighth overall with a time of 3:39.28.

UVM sophomoreÂ
Lina Sutro competed for the United States in Lahti, Finland in the U23 World Ski Championships. Her best finish came in the women's 10k skate. She was one of four Americans to finish in the top-30. Sutro finished 18th overall in a time of 27:44.9.

MOLTZAN AND ST. GERMAIN HEAD TO SLOVENIA FOR WORLD CUP
Laurence St. Germain and
Paula Moltzan will be away this weekend competing in the FIS World Cup slalom in Maribor, Slovenia. The slalom will be early Saturday morning in North America. The second run will be available live on the Olympic Channel beginning at 7 a.m. ET.

Following the race both UVM skiers will head to Åre, Sweden for the 2019 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships which run February 4-17.

2019 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE BACK IN STOWE
This March the University of Vermont will be hosting the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2011. Competition will run Wednesday, March 6 through Saturday, March 9. Like the UVM Carnival alpine races will take place at Stowe Mountain Resort while the Nordic races will be held at Trapp Family Lodge.
