CRAFTSBURY, Vt. – Former Catamount Caitlin Patterson '12 highlighted Day 1 of the U.S. Cross-Country Ski Championships winning the 10k Classic Individual Start Thursday at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center.

Amongst a field of 262 skiers Patterson took first place with a time of 30:44.7, almost 21 seconds ahead of the nearest competition. 2018 J. Edward Donnelly Award winner
Alayna Sonnesyn finished 12th overall with a time of 32:28.6.
Current student-athletes sophomore
Lina Sutro and junior
Margie Freed finished in the top-50 for the Catamounts. Sutro placed 25th overall with a time of 33:27.7 and Freed was 32nd with a time of 33:48.7.
Scott Patterson '14 was the top finisher in a field of 314 with ties to UVM in the men's 15k Classic. He finished sixth overall with a time of 42:41.2.
Vermont had a strong showing from current student-athletes with three skiers finishing in the top-40. Landgrove, Vermont native and freshman
Ben Ogden was the top Catamount placing 18th overall with a time of 43:32.9. Junior
Bill Harmeyer was 23rd overall with a time of 43:45.5. Freshman
Matias Øvrum finished in a time of 44:36.2 which was 39th overall.
