The Vermont Catamounts (0-1) return to the water for the first time in nearly a month this weekend with dual meets against UMass (Oct. 19) and New Hampshire (Oct. 20).

SCOUTING THE MINUTEWOMEN
UMass competes in its fourth meet of the 2019-20 season but host an opponent at Joseph R. Rogers Jr. Pool for the first time. The Minutewomen opened the season with a 221-84 win over Colgate (Oct. 5) before falling to Army West Point (Oct. 11). Most recently, UMass took a 195-102 win over Fairfield (Oct. 12).

UMass finished fifth in last year's Atlantic 10 Championship, tallying 333 points. The 2019-20 UMass roster features six seniors, seven juniors, seven sophomores, and 10 freshmen.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont and UMass first met in the 1976-77 season and met annually until through the 1996-97 season. In the 21 meetings, UVM won 18 of 21 meets.

The pair meet for the third straight season Saturday at UMass, with the Minutewomen winning each of the last two meets. In 2017, UMass took a 155-144 home win over Vermont. Last season, UMass took a 194-106 win at Forbush Natatorium.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
New Hampshire welcomes Vermont in its 2019-20 season opener this Sunday at Swasey Pool in Durham, New Hampshire. The Wildcats finished the 2018-19 campaign with a 5-2 overall record and 4-0 America East mark.

UNH defended its 2018 America East Championship with eight individual event winners and one relay victory to claim second behind UMBC in 2019.

New Hampshire enters Sunday's meet after taking a 155-145 victory over Vermont last season at Forbush Natatorium. Prior to the road win, the home team had won the five previous meetings in the series.
