SKIING NOTEBOOK
The Catamounts are back in action this weekend at the Middlebury Carnival Friday and Saturday and the conclusion of the giant slalom of the Dartmouth Winter Carnival on Sunday. Alpine races will be held at the Middlebury Snow Bowl in Hancock, Vt., while the Nordic team will be in action at the nearby Rikert Nordic Center. Sunday's giant slalom will be at the held at the Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme, N.H.

ROEISLAND EARNS FIRST CAREER NOR-AM TITLE
Last Thursday UVM senior
Max Roeisland won his first career Nor-Am title in the giant slalom. He finished .63 seconds ahead of his nearest competition in Sun Valley, Idaho. Â

MOLTZAN AND ST. GERMAIN REPRESENT UVM AT WORLDS IN ÅRE
UVM alpine skiers
Paula Moltzan (USA) and
Laurence St. Germain (Canada) have been skiing at the 2019 FIS Alpine World Championships in Åre, Sweden. On Tuesday St. Germain finished ninth overall in the Team Event. Today in Sweden Moltzan placed 46th after the first run in the giant slalom. On Saturday both Catamounts will compete in their specialty, the slalom. In the United States the first run of the slalom will be available on the Olympic Channel at 5 a.m. (ET). The second run will be live on NBCSN at 8 a.m. (ET). For viewers in Canada the races are available at CBCSports.ca.

NORDIC MEN DOMINATION
So far this season the UVM men's Nordic squad has won seven of the eight races. Last weekend at the Dartmouth Carnival all three UVM teams earned a podium spot in the 3x5k Classic Relay. The Catamounts have claimed 21 of the 24 podium positions in the eight races this season. In the men's 15k Skate Colby College's Zane Fields became the first non-Vermont skier this EISA season to win a race on the men's Nordic side.

2019 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE BACK IN STOWE
This March the University of Vermont will be hosting the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2011. Competition will run Wednesday, March 6 through Saturday, March 9. Like the UVM Carnival alpine races will take place at Stowe Mountain Resort while the Nordic races will be held at Trapp Family Lodge.
