Laurence St. Germain finished sixth overall in the women's slalom Saturday at the 2019 FIS Alpine World Championships in Åre, Sweden. It is her highest-ever finish in a top-level women's slalom event. Her UVM teammate
Paula Moltzan finished 18th overall.

St. Germain had the fourth fastest second run time in 1:01.05 and moved up two positions to place sixth overall with a combined time of 1:59.65. The 2018 Canadian Olympian's best-ever finish at a top-level slalom event before today was a tenth-place finish in Semmering, Austria on December 29.
Moltzan moved up three positions with her second run time of 1:02.05. She finished with a combined time of 2:02.51. In 2015 she finished 20th overall in the women's slalom at the 2015 FIS Alpine World Championships in Beaver Creek, Colorado.
Both Catamounts will return to action next weekend at the Bates Carnival and the EISA Championships.
