BOSTON, Mass. – Junior goalie
Nick Washuta earned America East Defensive Player of the Week honors and freshman
David Closterman garnered Rookie of the Week honors for their performances in Vermont's 9-7 win over Holy Cross last Saturday. The conference announced the awards Monday afternoon.
Washuta and Closterman pick up conference recognition for the second consecutive week to open the 2019 season.

Washuta recorded 13 saves and picked up six ground balls in a game Vermont never trailed. The junior goalie made several key stops to prevent the Crusaders from pulling within a goal of the Catamounts.
Closterman recorded a hat trick for the second time this season and added his first career assist for a four-point debut on Virtue Field. The freshman tallied a pair of first quarter goals and the eventual game-winning-goal in the fourth quarter.
