NEWRY/RUMFORD, Maine –
Bill Harmeyer and
Laurence St. Germain earned first-place finishes leading Vermont on day two of the EISA Championships at the Bates Carnival but the Catamounts were narrowly edged for the EISA title. Dartmouth finished with 973 points eight ahead of Vermont to win their third consecutive EISA title.

Day Two Results
The Catamounts scored their most points on the day in the men's 20k Classic with three Vermonters finishing in the top-four. Harmeyer earned his fourth win of the season with a time of 52:49.6. His UVM teammate
Ben Ogden placed second overall finishing 1.2 seconds later. The final Catamount to score was
Finn O'Connell, who placed fourth overall with a time of 53:02.1.
St. Germain won her second slalom title of the season with a blistering second run time of 55.59, one second faster than anyone in the field. Her combined time of 1:53.78 was .65 seconds faster than Dartmouth's Patricia Mangan who finished in second place. UVM's
Paula Moltzan earned her third slalom podium of the season finishing third overall in a two-run time of 1:55.13. Yesterday's giant slalom champion
Mille Graesdal was UVM's final scorer placing sixth overall with a combined time of 1:55.41.
Anna Bizyukova earned her second podium finish of the season finishing third overall in the women's 15k Classic. She finished .8 seconds out of second place with an overall time of 43:55.9. Next for the Catamounts was
Margie Freed, who came in with a time of 44:02.5 to place fourth overall.
Lina Sutro was Vermont's final scorer, placing fifth overall in a time of 44:12.6.
Jenny Pedersen (46:45.3, 12th) and
Lizzie Larkins (47:05.8, 15th) also earned top-15 spots for Vermont.
Patrick McConville was the top male finisher for the Catamounts in the men's slalom, placing eighth overall with a two-run time of 1:53.38. His Vermont teammate
Raphael Quenneville finished in 10th place just .50 seconds later. Rounding out the Catamount scorers was
David Frisk, who came in 12th overall in 1:54.21.
After a week off the Catamounts will be in action next at the 2019 NCAA Championships hosted this year by the University of Vermont in Stowe. Competition will run Wednesday, March 6 through Saturday, March 9. Alpine races will take place at Stowe Mountain Resort while the Nordic races will be held at Trapp Family Lodge. Visit
