NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine – On Thursday morning the New England Nordic Ski Association (NENSA) honored Head Nordic Coach
Patrick Weaver as the 2019 NENSA Coach of the Year.

Weaver finished his ninth season as the Nordic coach at Vermont, helping the Catamounts to a second-place finish at the NCAA Championships hosted by UVM in Stowe. Five members of the Nordic squad combined to earn seven All-America honors at the championship. The Catamounts won 15 of the 20 Nordic individual events this year on the EISA circuit. UVM skiers received many end-of-season accolades, including
Lina Sutro being named EISA Skate Skier of the Year and
Bill Harmeyer earning the title of both the Classic and Skate Skier of the Year. Freshman standout and EISA Rookie of the Year,
Ben Ogden, was also a member of the historic 2019 FIS Junior World Ski Championship gold medal relay team.
For his outstanding efforts Weaver was also named EISA Nordic Coach of the Year for the second time in his career in addition to being honored as USCSCA Nordic Coach of the Year. In May he also received a University of Vermont Athletic Department Staff Excellence Award in recognition of his historic 2018-19 campaign.
