WAKEFIELD, Mass. - 17 members of the Vermont men's hockey team and 14 members of the women's hockey team were named to the 2018-19 Hockey East All-Academic Team by the league on Thursday morning.

Each student-athlete selected achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during which he or she was actively competing. 160 student-athletes were named to the men's team, while 145 student-athletes made the women's squad. Both the men and women established new Hockey East records with the amount of student-athletes honored.
 
Vermont's Owen Grant was honored as a Hockey East Top Scholar-Athlete. He was one of four players on the men's side to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA for the season. Grant was also named a member of the 2018-19 Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team.
 
Alyssa Gorecki and Sammy Kolowrat were honored as Hockey East Distinguished Scholars. They maintained a 3.0 GPA or better in each semester of their four varsity seasons.
