SKIING NOTEBOOK
After a second-place finish at the Bates Carnival last weekend the Catamounts are looking to bounce back at the Williams Carnival on Friday and Saturday, the final tune up before the EISA Championships and Eastern Regional at the end of the month in Middlebury.
Due to snow conditions the Nordic competition will take place at Mt. Van Hoevenberg in Lake Placid, New York. The alpine competition will be held at Jiminy Peak in Hancock, Massachusetts.

Please note due to ongoing construction at Mt. Van Hoevenberg's cross country facility the weekend's races will take place on the biathlon side of the complex.

CATAMOUNTS LOOK STRONG IN TEAM RELAYS
Last season the Catamounts dominated the field in the team relay competition. In the men's 3x5k Classic Vermont's trio of
Ben Ogden,
Ian Moore, and
Matias Øvrum won the event at the Dartmouth Carnival while the Catamounts second and third teams remarkably placed second and third in the competition as well. On the women's side UVM's trio of
Anna Bizyukova,
Lina Sutro and
Margie Freed won the competition.

FAB FRESHMEN LEADING THE WAY
The 2020 campaign has seen several EISA rookies step in and make their presence felt. Vermont has 21 top-10 finishes from their freshman including four race victories.
Marina Vilanova (twice),
Joachim Jagge Lindstol, and
Mathias Tefre have earned the wins for UVM.

FREED NAMED EISA SKIER OF THE WEEK
After leading the Catamounts at the Bates Carnvial last weekend
Margie Freed was named one of the EISA Skiers of the Week. Freed earned her first podiums of the season last weekend placing third in the 15k Classic and the 5k Freestyle. She earned a total off 88 points for Vermont on the weekend.
