WORCESTER, Mass. – The Vermont Catamounts accumulated 92 points and sit in fourth place after the first day of the America East Championship held Thursday evening at WPI.
Vermont trails Binghamton (112 pts.), New Hampshire (105 pts.), and UMBC (90 pts.) after the one-meter dive, the 800 free relay, and the 200 medley relay events.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior Emily Murphy qualified for the finals and claimed seventh in the one-meter dive with a score of 199.35. New Hampshire's Allison Stefanelli (233.55) won the board and Maine's Phil Ann Dixon (222.95) finished second.
- The 800 free relay team of Sophia Smith, Mina Poppas, Cailin Campbell, and Katie Rivers finished third with a time of 7:29.94. New Hampshire won the event with a time of 7:18.20 and UMBC finished second (7:27.17).
- Kira Parker, Jenny O'Neil, Sierra Sexton, and Vivian Nguyen combined to take fourth in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:43.97. New Hampshire (1:41.43) won the relay with Maine (1:42.79) and UMBC (1:43.10) finishing second and third, respectively.
UP NEXT
The second day of the America East Championship begins tomorrow at 10 a.m. The day two preliminaries begin with three-meter diving, followed by the 500 free, 200 IM, and 50 free. The finals are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. at WPI.
