LAKE PLACID, N.Y. –
Ben Ogden,
Karl Schulz and
Bill Harmeyer skied to a 3x5k Relay win and UVM earned two podium spots in the slalom as the Catamounts finished second in the Williams Carnival with a total of 843 points. Middlebury edged Vermont by 12 points to claim their second straight carnival win of the season.

Ogden, Schulz and Harmeyer earned 116 team points for Vermont with their relay win. The trio finished in a time of 34:34.90, 5.7 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher New Hampshire. The women's squad led by –

Lina Sutro and
Anna Bizyukova finished second overall in a time of 40:34.1. Middlebury finished exactly 33 seconds ahead of the Catamounts. The women's team earned 106 points.
Joachim Jagge Lindstol and
Mathias Tefre finished two-three in the men's slalom to earn podium places for the Catamounts. Lindstol placed second for the second time this weekend with a two-run time of 1:34.1. Both of his runs were second fastest in the field. Tefre's second run of 46.13 was the fastest in the field by .51 seconds as he climbed to finish third with a time of 1:34.1.
Spencer Smith was Vermont's final scorer, he finished eighth with a combined run time of 1:35.7. The men earned 124 points on the day.
Josefine Selvaag was the women's top finisher in the slalom, placing sixth overall with a combined run time of 1:39.9.
Marina Vilanova placed ninth overall with a two-run time of 1:40.0. UVM's final scorer was
Rachael DesRochers. She placed 12th in the field with a two-run time of 1:40.3. The women's alpine squad earned 97 team points.
The EISA circuit continues after a week off at the Middlebury Carnival which will serve as the EISA Championships February 28-29. Nordic competition will be held at the Rikert Nordic Center and the alpine races will be contested down the road at the Middlebury Snow Bowl.
